Charlie Kirk did it the right way.
A generational talent has been cruelly and unjustly stolen from us.
His like… woefully rare.
Charlie paid the ultimate price for freedom of speech.
He was never rude, he was never vitriolic, he was always respectful and generally loving. Not because he would agree, but because he recognized a fellow human being, created in the image of the God he revered, as deserving of respect and grace. He often ended his debates, regardless of what the final words of his opposition might have been, with “God Bless You”, or “I’ll pray for you”.
There was not one iota of hatred in the man’s heart, regardless of how he was portrayed by those that opposed him.
His murder has made me angry in way I’m not familiar with… to execute a genuinely good man, ripping him away from his wife and children in such a violent, gut-wrenchingly horrific manner, because he couldn’t be stopped from being effective? Because he made a tangible difference?
Because he was WINNING?
ABJECT EVIL.
Charlie often said, (to paraphrase), “If you lose the ability to communicate, to openly debate your ideas via civil discourse, it will ultimately lead to violence”.
He believed that. He LIVED it. It’s exactly why he did what he did.
Until that opinion was cemented as horrific reality on Sept. 10th, 2025.
He was murdered while practicing the very thing he preached.
He was doing it the right way.
Charlie challenged ideas and allowed those that disagreed to be at the front of the line, the first to engage and present their views. He welcomed it with a loving heart, no animus, no personal attacks, just good faith, well informed debate in an effort to help our youth see that there might just be a better way. That the truth is not always easy to find, that to have a differing opinion is okay, and that if one is willing to engage in civil discourse and be open to information that may diametrically oppose your own views, you’ll be better for it regardless of whether your mind was changed or not.
He did it the right way…
yet he was still assassinated by a craven, weak-minded ideologue.
BUT… did this abruptly ruthless end silence Charlie’s voice?
… not tomorrow, nor any day following, as long as I draw breath.
Charlie’s sacrifice will not go in vain. I’ve never been so driven as I am now.
I doubt that we could ever truly replace what Charlie brought to the table, he was special in that regard… but what we CAN do is ensure that his values, his mission, his courage and conviction to confront his opposition on their home court, NEVER dies.
I am going to do my part. I EMBRACE IT.
With that goal in mind, I spent some time today exploring what it would take to create a non-profit, something that would not only honor what Charlie accomplished and ultimately died for, but to continue his mission in whatever way possible-
“The Charlie Kirk Free Speech Foundation”
However, I was unfortunately made to realize rather quickly, that to do so is simply beyond my means.
I have the time, I just don’t have the connections or resources,… but I won’t give up. I will fight for what Charlie believed in with what I DO have, a passion for the right to speak openly and freely, a love of our Constitutional rights as intended by our forefathers, and a fervor to see America be better than it is.
For my children’s sake, my grand-children’s sake, and for Charlie’s.
WILL YOU DO THE SAME?
We all need to take up the torch.
Apathy is no longer an option.
Rest in Peace Charlie, your work is done and you’ve earned your rest.
Our work is just beginning.
Just want to say thank you to all who've read this, so far it's been restacked 31 times. I can't adequately state how much I appreciate that. Sincerely, THANK YOU.
